Quick answer
A basic PCOS check (OB-GYN consult plus ultrasound) usually costs about ₱1,500 to ₱2,500. A full guideline workup with OGTT, lipids and hormone tests runs about ₱4,000 to ₱10,000 at Hi-Precision or Kindred, and more at tertiary hospitals.
The cheapest route is a government hospital, where ultrasound costs ₱450 to ₱750. PhilHealth Konsulta lists OGTT, HbA1c, lipids, pelvic ultrasound and metformin. And if you have both irregular cycles and high androgen signs, the guideline says you may not need an ultrasound at all (Rec 1.4.9).

Where you go matters more than anything else. The same ultrasound can cost a few hundred pesos at a government hospital or several thousand at a private one. Here is each route, with what you get.

An OB-GYN is the usual first stop. Government hospitals charge the least, sometimes nothing. Private hospital consults in Manila run up to ₱1,200 to ₱2,000.

Endocrinologist consult fee: [TODO: verify price]. We could not find a verified published fee. Many Filipinas see an endocrinologist after abnormal sugar or cholesterol results, and the top-voted post on r/PCOSPhilippines describes the endo as more thorough. Ask the clinic when you book.
Magkano ang TVS (transvaginal ultrasound)?
Transvaginal ultrasound is the scan most Philippine OBs order for PCOS. If you are not sexually active, ask for transrectal ultrasound or an AMH blood test instead. Teens are not diagnosed with ultrasound.

Two things save the most. Althea and Diane-35 contain the same hormones at the same strengths, and Althea costs less per box. Generic metformin is the same medicine as Glucophage at a fraction of the price. Ask your doctor before switching anything. Compounded or unregistered GLP-1s are never a safe shortcut: the Philippine College of Physicians warned against them on 14 March 2026. Outpatient PCOS medicines are generally not covered by PhilHealth.

Paano makatipid? How to spend less on a PCOS check-up
- You may not need an ultrasound. If you already have irregular cycles and signs of high androgens (acne, hair growth, or a high testosterone result), the 2023 Guideline says ultrasound is not needed for diagnosis (Rec 1.4.9). Ask your doctor if you can skip it.
- Use PhilHealth Konsulta. The Konsulta benefit table lists OGTT, HbA1c, FBS, lipid profile, pelvic ultrasound and Pap smear, and metformin as needed. Oral contraceptives are not on the list. Register with a Konsulta provider and ask what they offer.
- Get the ultrasound at a government hospital. TVS costs ₱450 to ₱750 at government hospitals like PGH, Bulacan Medical Center, SPMC and Bicol Medical Center, against ₱1,300 at Hi-Precision and much more at private hospitals.
- Watch for free screening days. Mercury Drug ran free PCOS screening and OB-GYN consults at select Metro Manila branches in May 2026. Watch drugstore and hospital pages for repeat drives.
- Use your HMO. Many HMOs cover the consult, TVS and labs when an accredited doctor orders them. Ask the HMO hotline before you go.
- Ask for generics. Generic metformin and Althea cost much less than their brand-name twins.
- Ask which tests you need now. Not everyone needs AMH, LH or FSH. The core checks are TSH, prolactin, OGTT and a lipid profile, plus testosterone if androgen signs are unclear.

Does HMO cover PCOS tests?

Can I get checked for PCOS for free?

Is PMOS the same as PCOS?
Yes. PMOS (polyendocrine metabolic ovarian syndrome) is the new name for PCOS, announced in The Lancet on 12 May 2026. It is the same condition with the same diagnosis and the same treatments. Both names will be used until the 2028 International Guideline update.
